Collaborative Consulting

Visitors interested in our consulting services

As we formed the National Institute for Deterrence Studies (NIDS), we knew that there was a need to engage with deterrence professionals to formulate and evaluate public policy and strategy that enhances our national deterrence posture. As an independent organization, NIDS has access to a diverse group of deterrence practitioners with experience and knowledge that can provide analysis and solutions to complex deterrence-related problems and evaluate risks, rewards, and options. Our approach to consulting is to weigh out any problems, assemble the right mix of members from our organization, and work collaboratively to ensure that results meet your needs.  As practitioners, we know of the issues and speak your language. Our goal is to provide actionable input and immediate value for implementation.

A lack of appreciation of the value of deterrence, and a reemergence of peer adversaries, makes a deterrence-focused organization of great importance for America’s future. The focus on nuclear modernization and survivability in policy, operations, technology, and civil operations requires a re-thinking of how leaders approach these activities. NIDS will serve to shape the nation’s recognition of and approach to deterrence and help to reduce the potential for great-power war.
