Research
The National Institute for Deterrence Studies (NIDS) is the only think tank in the nation dedicated to nuclear, space, and cyber deterrence. We examine these topics from the practitioner’s perspective because, with few exceptions, we spent decades working in the areas we research and write about. Most NIDS fellows spent a career in the military, civil service, or national labs before joining the National Institute for Deterrence Studies.
NIDS’ fellows publish books, academic journal articles, popular pieces and with Global Security Review, our online journal. We also publish occasional research reports.
Global Security Review
Our online journal dedicated to the advancement of strategic deterrence.
Published work from NIDS experts in relevant journals, publications and websites.
Our Latest Report
Dynamic Parity: A Nuclear Strategy for America’s Future.
