In August 2024, police in northern Germany chased a fleet of drones loitering over critical infrastructure: a decommissioned nuclear plant, a chemical facility, and a Baltic liquified natural gas (LNG) terminal. The drones flew with impunity, reportedly reaching 100 kilometres an hour to evade police.
