Host of Huessy Seminars, Mr. Peter Huessy is President of his own defense consulting firm, Geostrategic Analysis, founded in 1981, and through 2021, Director of Strategic Deterrent Studies at the Mitchell Institute on Aerospace Studies. He was the senior defense consultant at the National Defense University Foundation for 22 years. He was the National Security Fellow at the AFPC, and Senior Defense Consultant at the Air Force Association from 2011-2016.
Mr. Huessy has served as an expert defense and national security analyst for over 50 years, helping his clients cover congressional activities, arms control group efforts, nuclear armed states actions, and US administration nuclear related policy, budgets, and strategies, while monitoring budget and policy developments on nuclear deterrence, ICBM modernization, nuclear arms control, and overall nuclear modernization. He has also covered nuclear terrorism, counterterrorism, immigration, state-sponsored terrorism, missile defense, weapons of mass destruction, especially US-Israeli joint defense efforts, nuclear deterrence, arms control, proliferation, as well as tactical and strategic air, airlift, space and nuclear matters and such state and non-state actors as North Korea, China, Iran, Syria, Venezuela and Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al Qaeda. This also includes monitoring activities of think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and other US government departments, as well as projecting future actions of Congress in this area. His specialty is developing and implementing public policy campaigns to secure support for important national security objectives. And analyzing nuclear related technology and its impact on public policy, a study of which he prepared for the Aerospace Corporation in 2019.
Vice Adm. Richard E. Seif
Vice Adm. Richard E. Seif serves as Commander, Submarine Forces, Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic, and Commander, Allied Submarine Command. A 1992 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a master’s degree in business administration from William & Mary, he is a career submariner whose leadership assignments have included command of USS Buffalo (SSN 715), USS Jacksonville (SSN 699), Submarine Squadron One, Undersea Warfighting Development Center, Submarine Group Seven, and Submarine Forces Pacific. Prior to assuming command of the Submarine Force in 2026, he served as Director of AUKUS Integration and Acquisition, helping advance one of the most significant defense partnerships in recent history.
Vice Adm. Robert M. “Rob” Gaucher
Vice Adm. Robert M. “Rob” Gaucher serves as Director, Submarine Programs, overseeing the acquisition and sustainment of the United States’ undersea deterrent. A 1991 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Central Florida, he has held numerous operational and leadership assignments across the submarine force, including Commander, Submarine Forces and Commander, Allied Submarine Command. His career includes service on both attack and ballistic missile submarines, command of USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN 705), and senior flag assignments focused on strategic integration, undersea operations, and maritime warfare.
Vice Adm. Douglas L. Williams
Vice Adm. Douglas L. Williams is the Director of the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), responsible for sustaining and modernizing the sea-based leg of America’s nuclear deterrent. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School, he has spent much of his career leading strategic weapons and missile programs, including serving as SSP Technical Director and Director for Test at the Missile Defense Agency. Vice Adm. Williams brings extensive expertise in strategic deterrence, missile defense, and naval acquisition to the nation’s most critical strategic weapons programs.
